What problem did the client contact with?
The owner of the Skoda Octavia III (2017, 1.6 TDI, mileage 214,000 km) complained that the air conditioner was blowing warm air, and when turned on, a hum was heard from under the hood. An earlier recharge at another workshop helped only for two weeks.
Diagnostics
We checked the pressure in the system, tightness and operation of the compressor clutch. No leaks were found, butthe compressor did not generate operating pressure, and there were metal shavings in the freon. Therefore, a recharge alone did not help.
What was done
- The air conditioning compressor has been replaced.
- The lines were flushed and the dehumidifier was replaced.
- Vacuuming and leak testing were performed.
- The system is filled with refrigerant and oil according to the manufacturer's norm.
- The cabin filter has been replaced.
Result
The temperature on the deflectors after repair is 6 °C, the hum has disappeared. The client received a recommendation to service the air conditioner once a year.
