The final amount depends on a number of conditions:
Make and model. On some cars the catalytic converter is relatively inexpensive; on others, especially premium cars or those with complex exhaust geometry, the part can cost a lot.
The solution you choose. The price of replacing the converter differs depending on what goes in place of the worn part. That can be an original converter, a quality aftermarket part, or a more affordable alternative such as a spacer or a flame arrestor;
Whether the software needs adapting. If a fault stays active after the replacement, or the ECU needs reprogramming, that is done separately and affects the total.

The best choice for cars that go through a technical inspection, and for anyone who wants to keep the system as it left the factory. It meets the emissions limits in full, but it costs more.

Replacing the converter with an aftermarket part
A popular choice for cars older than 5-7 years. A quality part from a proven maker comes close to the original in its characteristics, and it is noticeably cheaper. It suits most cases where the system needs to work fully again.

A catalytic converter spacer
An electronic emulator that clears lambda sensor faults after the ceramic substrate is physically removed. It is used when fitting a new converter is not worthwhile and the car is not subject to a regular technical inspection. The housing of the part stays in place.

A flame arrestor
A metal part that replaces the converter inside the exhaust housing. It keeps the exhaust geometry and gives a normal sound and normal engine operation. It is often used together with a spacer.
